Privacy Policy
Salati Pro app (iOS and Android) · Last updated: 30 September 2026
In short: Salati Pro has no user accounts and no server that collects your data. Your settings stay on your phone. Your location is sent to mapping services only to find mosques near you. The app is funded by Google AdMob ads, shown according to the consent you give, which you can change at any time.
1. Who we are
Salati Pro is published by Abdourrahmane Jaafar (HiveSolve), an individual. For any question about your data: hivesolve@gmail.com.
2. Data used and why
Your location
It is only requested with your permission, and only while you are using the app (never in the background). It is used to:
- show the Qibla direction: the calculation is done on your phone, nothing is sent;
- find mosques near you: the app downloads the list of mosques in your area (a square of about 100 km) from its own database; only this approximate area is sent, never your exact position. If this database is unavailable, your coordinates are sent as a fallback to the OpenStreetMap search services listed in section 3.
You can refuse or withdraw this permission in your phone's settings: searching for a mosque by its name or city still works.
The chosen mosque
Prayer times and the Hijri date are calculated directly on your phone, from the coordinates of the chosen mosque: no data is sent for this.
A text search is first made in the app's mosque database: only the first two letters of a searched word are sent to its hosting provider. If nothing is found (for example for the name of a city or neighbourhood), the searched text is sent to OpenStreetMap's Nominatim service.
Advertising
Banner ads are provided by Google AdMob (Google Ireland Limited). On first launch, a form asks for your consent (in accordance with the GDPR); on iPhone, Apple then asks whether you allow ad tracking.
- With your consent, Google may use your device's advertising identifier, your IP address and technical information about the device to show personalised ads and measure their effectiveness.
- Without consent, only non-personalised ads may be shown, or none at all.
You can change your choice at any time in Settings → Advertising → Manage my privacy choices, and tracking in your phone's settings. To learn more: Google's Privacy Policy and how Google uses data.
Notifications
Prayer time reminders are scheduled directly on your phone. No data is sent for this. You can turn them off in Settings → Notifications.
Data stored on your phone only
The chosen mosque, the prayer time calculation method, the language, the theme (light or dark), whether notifications are on, and your consent choices. They are not shared with anyone and are deleted when you uninstall the app.
3. Recipients of data
We do not sell or rent any data. The only recipients are the following services, strictly for the uses described above:
| Service | Data received | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Overpass API (OpenStreetMap) | Coordinates of your position | Nearby mosques |
| Photon (komoot, Germany) | Coordinates of your position | Nearby mosques |
| Hosting of the Salati Pro mosque database (Cloudflare) | Geographic area of about 100 km (never your exact position) | Nearby mosques (used first; Overpass and Photon are only fallbacks) |
| Nominatim (OpenStreetMap Foundation) | Searched text | Searching for a city or neighbourhood, or for a mosque missing from the app's database |
| Google AdMob | Advertising identifier, IP address, device information (depending on consent) | Advertising |
As with any internet access, these services also receive your connection's IP address. Their own privacy policies apply.
Transfers outside the European Union: Overpass and Photon are located in the European Union. Google and Cloudflare may process data in the United States: these transfers are covered by the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework, to which these companies adhere, and by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. Nominatim is operated by the OpenStreetMap Foundation, based in the United Kingdom, a country recognised by the European Commission as providing adequate protection.
4. Legal bases
- Consent: location (phone permission), personalised ads and tracking, notifications. You can withdraw it at any time.
- Performance of the requested service: sending the searched text to find a mosque or a city.
5. Retention period
We do not keep any data on a server. Data stored on your phone remains there until the app is uninstalled. Third-party services keep the data they receive according to their own policies.
6. Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction and portability, as well as the right to withdraw your consent. Write to us at hivesolve@gmail.com. You may also lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority, the CNIL (www.cnil.fr), or with the authority of your country.
7. Children
Salati Pro contains ads and is not intended for children under 13.
8. Changes
This policy may be updated, in particular when new features are added. The date of the last update is shown at the top of this page.
